Rinse Water Swabs are self-contained ATP water sampling devices used with the CleanTrust Hygiene luminometer. This pen-sized sample collection device is easy to use, and collects 100 µl of water in the honeycomb-shaped dipper. Rinse Water Swab uses a liquid-stable reagent in place of freeze-dried enzymes giving it superior reproducibility and sensitivity. It is available in both Free and TOTAL ATP versions.
TOTAL ATP detects all ATP in the solution both TOTAL and FREE ATP so is a good indicator of good overall CIP cleanliness.
Free ATP detects only the FREE ATP in the solution but not any intracellular ATP. It is usually used in conjunction with the TOTAL ATP swab
Thus TOTAL -FREE ATP = Intracellular ATP. This correlates well to the microbial level in a solution.
When used with the LTS3900 and LTS3500 the rinse water swab will give you reliable results in 15 seconds.
